Climate
The St. Lawrence Lowlands are very wet and humid, with precipitation between720mm to 1000mm each year. In winter, temperatures can reach -30 degrees Celsius and up to 20 degrees Celsius in summer.
Flora
There are several biomes in this region.Several types of trees, like sugar maple and basswood, can be found here. Forestry has led to over 80% of these trees being cut down. Some adaptations are broad, thin leaves (to capture as much sunlight as possible) and shedding their leaves in fall. The trees do this because cold temperatures can damage the trees. To do this, they cut off the water supply to their leaves.
Animals in this include mountain lions, coyotes, deer, elk, and bison. Some of them have since been hunted into near extinction.Native fish include lake trout, whitefish, and sturgeon. Some adaptations that the animals have developed are hibernating, migrating, and food storage,
