Geography
Climate
The Canadian Shield Forest Lands is divided into the Taiga Shield (North) and the Boreal Shield (South). The Taiga Shield is very dry, receiving only between 175mm and 200mm of rain each year. The Boreal Shield has much more precipitation, getting400mm to 1600mm each year. In the Taiga Shield, the temperature is below zero for most of the year, but it can get up to 11 degrees Celsius. In the Boreal Shield, the average Summer temperature is about 13 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in the winter average about -1 degree Celsius in the East and -20 degrees Celsius in the West.
Flora
Most of the plant life in the Canadian Shield Forest Lands is trees. Other plant life includes lichens, small shrubs, and moss.It is part of the Boreal Forest biome, so the plants have similar adaptations. For example, the trees keep their leaves all year round to keep predators away.
There are many different types of animals in this region, like moose, deer, wolves, bears, and bobcats. Some reptiles and amphibians in the region include frogs, salamanders, toads, and turtles. Some animals in this region, especially birds, will only come during summer, and migrate to warmer places in winter. Other animals, like bears, hibernate during the Winter, or have developed thick fur to stay warm.
The Canadian Shield Forest Lands have a population of 2 928 100 people, most live in the Boreal Shield. Around 41 700 people live in the Taiga Shield, because there aren't many natural resources. The Boreal Shield has a population of 2 886 400 people. Some cities in the Canadian Shield Forest Lands include Yellowknife, St. John's, and Quebec city.
Economy
Like the Hudson Bay Lowlands, the economy was built on fur trading, mining, hydroelectricity, and forestry.Because the Canadian Shield Forest Lands depend on natural resources, the economy rises and falls with the market. The forestry industry is still important in this region, and will be for a long time because of the amount of trees in the area.
Environmental Concern
The environmental concern in the Canadian Shield Forest Lands is acid rain. It's caused by sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide mixing with water, oxygen, and other chemicals in the air. This creates acid rain. Things that put nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide into the air in the Canadian Shield are cars and smelters. Acid rain makes soil and bodies of water acidic, Humans have caused this problem because we are the ones that use the smelters and automobiles. Some solutions are walking, biking, or using the bus. I think the best way to fix this problem is by walking or riding bikes more.

|
Hudson's Bay Lowlands and Nychalakh Russia both are mainly made up of a boreal forest biome. The Taiga region has animals such as elk, snowshoe hares and linx. As well as spruce, fir and lichens. Some additional adaptations that animals have developed are having thick fur to keep warm and hibernating during the winter.
Forestry is the biggest economic source of income for Russian Taiga, which is shipped around the entire world.
